• Congenital neurogenic ptosis is believed to be caused by the Horner syndrome.
• Acquired Horner syndrome may result after trauma, neoplastic insult, or even vascular disease.
• The ptosis of Horner syndrome can be quite mild or barely noticeable ( partial ptosis ).
• Complications of cerebrovascular FMD include TIA, ischemic stroke, Horner syndrome, or subarachnoid hemorrhage.
• Damage to the hypothalamospinal fibers disrupts sympathetic nervous system relay and gives symptoms analogous to Horner syndrome.
